10 Fun-Filled Activities for 10 Days of School Break

It seems like the school session had just started so why is it time for the Autumn/Dussehra/Dasara break already?!

I can’t seem to decide if I like school break or not. I like them as I understand that more often than not, school gets overwhelming even for small kids and therefore a break is a must. However, a long break like the autumn one or the summer one also means that kids just get lost. After a while when they are done running around, they start feeling bored and get more destructive than constructive. And that’s when I don’t like holidays.

Older kids can keep themselves busier but it is the younger ones of the lot that need to stay indulged in an activity. If not, they often start clinging to mothers and keep having meltdowns over tablet time. The same is the story with my daughter.

In my experience, the best way to keep these packets of energy happy is by channelizing their energy in activities that are engaging. Here are 10 handpicked activities that you and your little one can enjoy together and make the school break fun –

This is more of a ‘science at home’ activity. You will be surprised to find out how a simple solution from your kitchen’s pantry and make a fragile egg into a bouncy ball of crazy fun.

Though this experiment is for slightly older kids, younger kids can enjoy it too. Older kids would be able to do it independently and younger kids would need initiation.

This craft was inspired by the lovable Paddington Bear which likes gulping down jars of orange marmalade. The craft recycles empty tissue roll that we throw out at least every month or so.

The craft is for making a bear, but once you get the hang of it, you can make any animal or character of your choice.
