Holiday in Goa – Land of Most Beautiful Sunsets

Holiday in Goa – Land of Most Beautiful Sunsets

We went for a week-long December vacation to Goa. It has been our December tradition for three years now to go to a place with sun, sea and sand. This year it was Goa.

Sunset at Anjuna,

I stay in Bangalore and from here Goa is just around 10 hours of car ride away. I have come across numerous Bangaloreans who visit Goa every single year. And thus when I went looking for reviews of the place, I found them plenty. Of course, because of them I was expected a lot from Goa. And did it live up to them? Surely!

Goa is such a laid back place (just don’t go for Christmas or New Year because then it would not look laid back at all). You enter a beach and all you can think of is a beach chair and Feni. Or in my case a nice shady place for sand play and a breezer (I have a toddler you see).

We did visit the most-sought after beaches like Anjuna and Calangute. But we spent the major part of our vacation days lying at the less-visited beaches like Morjim, Arambol and Palolem.

Early morning at Morjim,

A little before the first rays of sun hit the beach, local fisherman get ready for their catch of the day,

Arambol is the jagged rock beach and carries peace of its own kind,

Nothing can beat the serenity of Palolem that seems miles away from civilization,

I am an Indian and I haven’t seen anything else like Goa in India. It is a place which accepts unconditionally. In a true Miley Cyrus mode, it becomes your place and you can do what you want, you can kiss who you want and you can sing what you want. Nobody’s watching you, nobody’s judging you, nobody’s bothered.
